CONFIDENT REJOICING IN CHRIST

“. . . Christ [is] a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end” (Hebrews 3:6).

As a dwelling place of God, each believer is exhorted to hold securely the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.  Because of the hope we have in Christ, we have received this great confidence from Him and in Him, confidence that He exists and that He is able to do that which exceeds anything we can ask, think, or imagine.  The confidence the writer of Hebrews speaks of is expressed in our openly bold, Biblical speech which evidences our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The encouragement we get from this text is that the rejoicing, our confident boasting and glorying in the Lord Jesus, comes from the hope as well. Biblical hope always produces confidence and rejoicing.

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.  For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:35-36).

One first verse explicitly refers to the end of life’s journey, and the second one alludes to it; both offer encouragement to us as we journey along. Trials will come to every believer’s life.  We will not escape difficulties.  Therefore, the writer explains that those who are the house of the Lord can hold fast to the end.  He also encourages us not to cast away our confidence which has great reward.  Nurture your confidence in the Lord by reading His word regularly, praying, and fellowshipping with believers. Many of us are under fire from the enemy of our souls; however, I exhort you to continue believing and trusting Jesus.  Your confidence in Him will be rewarded.

I am so excited, again. For some reason on my phone I can't comment. I can read the Blog, but when it comes time to comment. I click in the box and the cursor leaves. I am so glad, I am receiving thorough understanding of the way my life is. I am not ashamed to be free in Christ Jesus, I am just a sheep, I no nothing, but what God says. I just want to proclaim him. I am so glad I am free from bondage. I am not crazy, I know I am emotional. But my joy and confidence is in Christ Jesus. I can and will continue to express the Biblical understanding and revelations of my Savior openly bold. I am so glad to be free of myself. I don't need a Title, a position I am just fitted in the Kingdom and I want to be a servant and whereever God wants me that is where I will be. A sister in Christ kept asking me what is my calling, and a while a go I would have said I am this and I am called to do that like she boldly expressed her calling. Had I not known better I would have gotten my feelings hurt. For some reason it wasn't about my feelings it was about the spirit at hand. I kept saying to her that I am called to do what Christ wants me to do. I told her that because everytime I thought I was called to do something it wasn't done decently in order and it was myself and not of Christ. I am so excited that my confidence is no longer in myself or man, but in Christ. So glad I have a human spiritual dad who fear God and feed his children. I have grown soo much under your teaching in 5 months than I have in almost 3 years at another church. I am hungry, thirsty and I want my faith to increase and know my Spiritual Father in Heaven better. I love him and he has so much for me. Thanks Pastor!

Thank you God, Pastor Don mentioned just yesterday at Bible Study exactly what I meant about my calling. I am called to do whatever Christ Jesus wants me to do, it could be to pick up a piece a paper off the church carpet, join the Greeters Ministry, the Prison Ministry, it could be to give someone a ride home, buy someone a cup of coffee, etc. My calling is whatever the Spirit of God leads me to do. One thing I am learning is that sometimes the Holy Spirit may call me to be apart of something for a season, or lead a study for a season. Thank you Pastor, I received confirmation that I am on the right track to be called to do whatever the Holy Spirit tells me to do. This is my calling! Hallelujah! So glad to be free in Christ Jesus my Savior. Welcome back Pastor, I really missed you.
